LIFE OF PAI

We got a mini bus to Pai and on the way….it was very jugglery and pot holey and hurtful. I ate loooooooooooooooad’s of dried mango yüüüüüüm. I felt relieved when we got Pai.

We went for a walk to find a place for tomorrow because we already had a place for tonight. We saw some fishermen in the river with nets. The nets had chains around the bottom of the throwing nets so they would sink around the fish when thrown. I really wanted to get in but when I went to get in I saw a huge lizard in the grass right beside me so I didn’t get in.

Dad went to get a place to stay so he wasn’t there but Helen was, so we took pictures of each other until Dad got back then we went up the road to get to where we were sleeping today.

So we went and put our bags at the place that we were staying and went back to town to the night market to see what was happening there. We had dessert there and looked around. There were some people trying to get money for education. We gave them 20 baht. They looked sad but became happy when we stopped to listen. After the market we moved on chugging our way back to home. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  1. Hi koia!!! Your blog is sooo cool. I just registered and caught up on all your travels to date. Sounds like you are doing some super cool stuff.

    Guess what.

I went to Pai 10 years ago and we woke up one morning to lots of yelling and the heavy rain had flooded the town. The worst flood in 40 years. Some of the people that we’re staying down by the river had to leave their packs and swim for it. Just about everywhere was flooded except for the little guest house we were staying in. We were thinking it was a bit dingy when we booked in and we’re going to move to somewhere else the next day. Luckily we didn’t!!!

Have you learnt any words in Thai yet.
This is a good one: Mai Ben rai

It means no problem or all good.

Can you tell me how to say hello and thank you?

Ok. Momo over and out xxxxx

Ps love to your dad and Helen and tell them a big congratulations for getting married xxx

  2. Hi dude, great photos of your accomodation. How are you liking the different styles of housing there? Quite opposite to how we live in NZ huh. I hope your gathering some good ideas for how to use bamboo and build with it. What about the toilets and bathrooms, what are they like? Have you seen any cool innovative ides that we could implement at home?
